Banjo very loving!

My name is Banjo!   I am one year old and I weigh 14.5 lbs.  I am fostered in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Easy, affordable transportation is available though. I was turned into the rescue because I was found as a stray and those people could not keep me. I get along well with other dogs but would not mind being the only pet so that I could get all of the attention. I'm not sure how I am with cats because the rescue does not have any. I get along fine with children but will not be adopted into a home with young children because of my size. I enjoy playing with toys, especially balls. I ride well in the car and I come when I'm called. I am house trained and will come to the door after taking care of my business. I prefer someone to go out with me because I love being with my people so much, but they do not have to. I have a low to medium energy level. My current foster is in a power wheelchair and I just follow her around all day and hang out wherever she is. I could easily just be a lap dog, but I would be just as happy to go on a long walk, run, hike, etc. I rarely bark but I will bark when strangers come in.  If given time to get comfortable with them though,  I will be all over them for some loving! It's possible that I may form a little more of a special bond with  one particular person in the family  as I have in my foster home, but that could be because my foster spends a lot of time with me and pays more attention to me than anyone else does. Everybody else is okay, but when my foster is around, she's the bomb! I sleep under/on her bed at night and love to wake her up with lots of kisses when she starts moving around. I am also happy to snuggle beside her in bed when she lets me. My preference is women, but I think that's just because enough men have not paid enough attention to me yet. I will simply avoid anyone that I don't think is absolutely crazy about me. I'm very treat oriented, smart, and learn quickly. I do have a bit of a stubborn streak though if it's something that I really want to do. I don't try to get in the trash but will try to slip out the door with you, not to run away, but to go with you. If you don't go outside then, I will try to get back in the house. My coat is very soft and I do shed some, but no more than any other dog. I'm not really leash trained but will follow along. I'm ready and waiting to go to my new forever home!
